All couch grass is grown at our farm in Gingin Brook, approximately 1 hour out of Perth and is guaranteed Weed free. We are able to provide for both residential and commercial use with size ranging from 10m² to 100,000m² in shredded or roll on variety.
1. Plateau Couch, $7 per square Metre -
Plateau Couch is a new variety of couch developed in Australia.
Plateau Couch has much of the same hard wearing and good looking characteristics of other couch varieties, yet differs greatly in its growth pattern. "Plateau" is so named for its unique trait of strong lateral growth. This means that instead of the main growth energy tending upwards, it actually prefers to grow sideways and so can spread itself across large areas faster than any other variety.
CHARACTERISTICS OF PLATEAU COUCH
Non irritant
Deep Green in Colour
Medium invasion characteristics
Low to medium maintenance
High tolerance to waterlogging
Excellent resistance to shade
Excellent wear, recuperative and green up rate
Excellent winter colour retention
Good disease and pest resistance
Requires minimum 2-4 hours direct sunlight daily
Propagated from stolons (runners) or turf rolls
MAINTENANCE
Plateau couch grass should ideally be mown every 3-5 weeks at a height of approximately 8-12mm during summer and in winter mow every 6-8 weeks and raise the mowing height to approx. 14-18mm. An even ground is important and annual to biannual scarifying might be necessary, ideally during the spring months.
USES
Residential and commercial lawns for a soft formal appearance. High wearing areas e.g. golf courses, tennis courts, bowling greens, where hard wearing/close mowing is required. Parks and gardens, sports ovals, soil stabilisation areas, roadsides, urban in-fill areas.
2. Wintergreen Couch, $5.50 per square Metre -
Wintergreen Couch Turf is a hybrid couch, blue-green in colour, with a fine, dense, soft leaf texture with high colour retention under low winter temperatures and partial shade. Has low seed head formation if mown regularly. A deep-rooted, dense network of fine stolons and rhizomes make it a tough turf with a very smooth soft but hard-wearing surface. This turf is used at the Lake Karrinyup Golf Course for the fairways.
