Goodbye John Green

Today we say a final goodbye to a much-loved Neighbour work colleague but more importantly close friend. John was a man of great character and strength, with a love for the open road and western way of life. John had an unwavering dedication to his work, yet somehow managed to put his friends and family first, a rare breed of person today who always got the job done with no complaints. John took great pride in his work, whether he was delivering turf and cattle for his Neighbours, restoring old sulky’s, finding a bargain on the side of the road or preparing his property for tourists, John loved nothing more than taking in the sights and sounds of the world around him. He was always a true cowboy at heart, with a love for the western way of life and the open land.

Beyond His hardworking and determined spirit, John will be remembered for his quick wit, warm smile and kind heart, he was more than just a colleague and friend he was a mentor and role model too many. This is especially evident in his Grandson Jeremy who has adopted all his grandfather’s greatest qualities shaping him in to the amazing man we see today. John will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he has touched.

Rest in Peace, John. No longer will you have to answer a call from some “dickhead Kirkwood” asking, “what time do you think u will have the turf delivered” Your Spirit and legacy will continue to live on in all of us.

Love from

The Entire West Coast Turf family, past and present.
